***New Course*** Navigating AI Conversations
I have been away from Substack and other media for a while as I navigate a cross-country move. I’m currently exploring national parks in Utah. Beginning in May, you will hear from me regularly again.
But today I have an important announcement. There’s a new course out, designed and hosted with the Middle States Academy (the text below is theirs). It’s asynchronous, and involves practice discussions with suitably configured AIs about academic integrity, cognitive offloading, and environmental concerns.
Note: though Middle States Association is a K-12 accreditor, this course is just as applicable to higher education

AI conversations in schools right now? Messy. Emotional. Slightly chaotic.
One person thinks it is cheating.
Another thinks it is the future.
Most people are just trying to figure out what is actually true.
That is exactly why we built “Navigating AI Conversations”, a course designed by Tim Dasey, one of the early pioneers in AI, with 35+ years leading advanced AI research and real-world application at MIT.
This is not about picking a side. It is about learning how to handle the conversation when the room is split.
In this course, you will:
• Break down the real issues, academic integrity, offloading thinking, environmental impact
• Practice the hard conversations through AI-powered role play
• Walk away with an actual plan to lead better AI dialogue in your school
Because avoiding the conversation is not a strategy. And arguing in circles is not leadership.
If AI keeps coming up in your meetings, classrooms, or inbox, this is for you.
